This event is the second installment of the symposium, Hollywood and the New Cold War. There will be a screening of the movie Mission To Moscow (1943), which was among the first pro-Soviet films later vilified by HUAC. Afterwards there will an opportunity to engage in a panel discussion with Alex Goldfarb, co-author of Death of a Dissident: The Poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko and the Return of the KGB and President of the London-based Litvinenko Justice Foundation, and The New School faculty Anthony Anemone, Associate Professor of Foreign Languages and Literature, and Nina Khrushcheva, Professor of International Affairs.

In the 2016 Spring semester, to mark the 25th anniversary of the end of the Cold War , the Graduate Program in International Affairs at Milano School holds a series of panel discussions and film screenings (curated by Professor Nina Khrushcheva and MA candidate Gabrielle Belli). The series aims to explore the symbiotic relations–both past and contemporary–between the media and politics that trace back to the golden age of Hollywood, the times of the Cold War.
