Professor Konstantine Rountos Recipient of 2014 Nuria Protopopescu Memorial Teaching Award

imagesKonstantine Rountos has been selected as the recipient of the 2014 Nuria Protopopescu Memorial Teaching Award from Stonybrook University.  This award is presented annually to a graduate student in the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences based on demonstrated excellence in teaching, innovation and creativity in instructional plans and materials, and engagement with and dedication to their students.

Konstantine has been successfully teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels as an Adjunct lecturer at three NYC institutions of higher learning: Manhattan College, the College of Mount Saint Vincent, and The New School. The courses he has taught have ranged from General Biology and Ecology to Environmental Sciences. At The New School, Konstantine has developed and taught a core course, Principles in Environmental Studies, for the MS program in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management at Milano every semester since its inception in Fall 2011.
