Julien J. Studley’s contributions to The New School are well known by many on campus, but some students might not be as familiar with the remarkable life of SGPIA’s namesake and long-serving trustee. A film produced by The New School–The Unconventional Julien Studley–offers an intimate tribute to Julien Studley, who passed away on October 13, 2015. Watch the film to learn more about his childhood in Belgium, his narrow escape from Nazi persecution in France during World War II, and his student experience at The New School after he arrived in New York City. Compelling commentary from The New School President David E. Van Zandt and SGPIA alum Martin Searle are woven through the film to place a spotlight on how Mr. Studley’s lasting contributions align with values promoted at The New School.
