This public event examines the current status and future of green jobs – jobs that enhance environmental sustainability – and their connections with social and economic justice.
A panel consisting of green job leaders from industry, government, and nonprofit groups, along with New School alumni working in environmental or environmental justice fields, will discuss current initiatives to grow the green economy, provide jobs for those seeking careers in environmental fields, and enhance environmental justice and economic development in low income communities. Panelists will provide their insights into the types of knowledge and skills needed to succeed in environmental and environmental justice careers.
Welcoming remarks will be given by Ana Baptista, Chair Environmental Policy & Sustainability Management Program Assistant Professor of Professional Practice, Associate Director, Tishman Environment & Design Center (TEDC)
The panel will be moderated by Kristin Reynolds, Visiting Assistant Professor, Environmental Studies and Food Studies; Faculty Affiliate Tishman Environment & Design Center (TEDC)
