This power lunch is an opportunity to network with important thought leaders in the world of philanthropy. Author of The Self Help Myth: How Philanthropy Fails to Alleviate Poverty, Erica Kohl-Arenas, (PhD UC Berkeley) Assistant Professor at Milano School of International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy at The New School, will be joined by Milano Dean Michelle DePass (former Program Officer for the Ford Foundation and Obama Administration Appointee) and Mario Marin, VP of Development at United Way of Greater Los Angeles, to discuss the challenges within the nonprofits and philanthropy and the work that the United Way is doing combat emerging issues.
