He has based his support for the legislation on findings that indicate economic benefits have been seen in San Fransisco after the city expanded paid sick days to smaller businesses

Newly appointed EPSM Director Rick McGahey appeared on PBS NewsHour to discuss the state of NYC post Mayor Bloomberg. McGahey points to both the widening income gap and unionized city workers’ contracts as two issues to be addressed by the next mayor.
Professor Alex Schwartz, who teaches courses on housing finance and housing policy, was quoted a New York Times article about affordable housing in New York City. In the article, which was published on April 12, 2013, Professor Schwartz discusses the problems with aging affordable housing units in the piece.
