The students of the New School Graduate Program in International Affairs formed Project Africa to encourage and foster learning and the sharing of students’ knowledge of, experiences with, and interests in Africa and its myriad of cultures, histories and lived experiences.
In collaboration with members, the university community and the African community of New York, Project Africa endeavors to present diverse programs and cultural events such as films screenings, dinners, music and/or art showcases which will spark discussion and open minds on wide-ranging topics including history, politics, development trends, and gender issues.
Our mission is to promote greater understanding and increase cross-cultural awareness of Africa and its people. Through our efforts, we wish to inspire students to further their knowledge of Africa through constructive dialogue, personal research, interdisciplinary engagement, and personal connections.
